Christmas Bells(historical fiction) by Jennier Chiaverini.
In this delightful story the past and present are intertwined. The story unites Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and his poem-turned-Christmas hymn, “Christmas Bells”, with the lives of eight modern day characters who all share in their involvement with the activities of an historic church in Boston. Reading this book is a great and uplifting way to start the Christmas season.

For several years, Newcomers & Neighbors has had a tradition of donating gift cards in multiples of $10.00 to give to non-profit community organizations for the holidays. This year we have chosen The Shepherds Center, a senior center on Ebert Road, that provides social services to hundreds of seniors in our community who lack basic services. Each year the Center gives qualifying seniors a shopping bag of much needed toiletries, household items, food and gift cards. HOW CAN YOU HELP? Please purchase one or more gift cards in $10 denominations (i.e., buy 2 $10 gift cards rather than one $20 card). Preferred stores for your gift cards: . . . Walmart . . . Food Lion . . . Walgreens . . . CVS. Please bring the card(s) with you to the Holiday Party on Friday, December 6. If you are not attending the party, you may bring the card(s) to the November 26 General Meeting.
