BOOK CLUB - Monday, February 3 at 10:00 AM The book selection for February is Watership Down, by Richard Adams. This book has been a worldwide bestseller for more than forty years. Watership Down is the compelling tale of a band of wild rabbits struggling to hold onto their place in the world—“a classic yarn of discovery and struggle” (The New York Times). At the February meeting, members are asked to make suggestions of books to be read and discussed at the May-October meetings. Upcoming reads: March 2—Becoming Dr. Seuss (biography) by Brian J. COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT Hold these dates: February 20 and 27 . . . For dinners at Habitat Volunteer Lodge. Sign up sheets will be at the January meeting. Ladies are needed to prepare a meal. Once enough members are signed up to participate, the menu and other details will be decided. Our next Community Service Project will be Bookmarks and their Book Build, probably sometime in March.
DAY TRIP GALS - February 7, 2020, at 10:00 AM Archie Elledge Wastewater Treatment Plant, 801 Griffith Road, Winston-Salem See how it happens . . . . . . . . . To the tune of millions of gallons of water a day! The treated water that the Utilities Department puts back into the Yadkin River is cleaner than the raw water that it pulls out of the river for the water treatment plants. The tour, which will take about an hour, will show the treatment process. The plant is one of two wastewater treatments plants that serves Forsyth County handling 35 million gallons of wastewater daily from a network that consists of 1,750 miles of sewer mains and 52 wastewater pump stations.

SOCIAL - DELICIOUS BY SHEREEN COOKING CLASSES Shereen conducts cooking classes in the kitchen at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem. Delicious by Shereen donates proceeds to help Syrian refugee women. Two classes have been scheduled for our group. Learning how to cook middle eastern cuisine, then cooking, and then the best part — eating — how great is that! Class size is 12 to 14 people. WINE GROUP - Saturday, February 8, 7:00 PM The Wine Group will meet again on our usual date, the second Saturday in February, which falls on the 8th this year, BYOB. Everyone is invited no matter what your choice of beverage is. We hope to have a full house because the wine folks are fun loving and terrific cooks. Our choice of wine this month is from Italy. Hope to see you with a bottle in hand, whether wine or not.
